URGENT Call for: entries for YouthPhoto Competition
Deadline: 5 September 2016
Residents of the Nordic Countries between the ages of 16-30 can now send in entries for the YouthPhoto Competition. The competition is hosted by the Nordic Press Association from August 17 to September 2016. Photos have to been taken during 2016 and should be appropriate for all ages. The winner will receive a monetary prize and equipment. The 10 best photos will be exhibited at Pressen. Learn how to send in your photos here.

Call for: entries for YouthMetre video competition
Deadline: 31 October 2016
Our YouthMetre partners are looking for videos documenting the implementation of the EU Youth Strategy and its goals at national and local levels. There are no limits to your creativity. Entries can take the form of mini-documentaries, reports, (scripted) narratives or animations. The running time should be between 1-3 minutes. Multiple entries are allowed. The Peace Journalist is a semi-annual publication of the Center for Global Peace Journalism at Park University in Missouri. You can now register for the “Crossing Borders. Migration and Citizenship Education in Europe” conference that takes place during 10-12 November 2016 in Zagreb, Croatia. NECE 2016 will offer a rich variety of lectures, workshops, and open formats. The conference will look at the ongoing European response to the issue of migration including the divisions within and between European societies. Participants will discuss how citizenship education should react to the polarising debate and controversies concerning migration, diversity and identity which have been triggered by the waves of migration which began summer 2015. Call for: applicants for feminist fellowship

Writers who are interested in feminism and social justice can apply for a remote, three-month fellowship at the nonprofit feminist media organization Bitch Media. The program consists of an intensive writing fellowship with the goal of developing, supporting and amplifying emerging, diverse voices in feminist, activist and pop-culture media. Possible subject areas include reproductive rights and justice, pop-culture criticism, technology and global feminism. The selected participants must produce a minimum of six online articles for Bitch Media in their topic area, in addition to at least one longform article for its magazine. The Student Media Grant by the Center on Conflict and Development is now open for students from all around the world. Participants should be budding photographers interested in capturing issues facing fragile and conflict-affected areas of the world through striking and effective photography.

The Travel Photographer of the Year (TPOTY) photo competition is now open for both professional and amateur photographers.
